How I Started
I took up magic at ten, having taken to the stage at seven. I made good money as a teenage Magician, but when I told my dad that I wanted to be a theater major, Dad said, "Well, Buddy, who's going to help you through school?".
I became an engineer!!!!
What I Did Next
It seems I just couldn't stop learning and doing. After becoming an engineer, I served in the army, and went to the Peace Corps. Then I married, had four children, and designed and built over 1,000 homes in Kentucky. I led a seven division corporation, earned an MBA, Ed.D, and a MSSW. I did all of it hoping to improve the lives of others.....
Really just wanting to add some MAGIC to their lives!!
One Lucky Fellow
While working as a group therapist for older adults, COVID hit. That changed everything...again. Lucky me, I had all that magic still in my head, in my heart and on the shelf. What better way to create wonder, joy, and characters like Pappy Budreaux, the Swamp Conjurer. His first appearance? House of Blues/ June 2023!

2024 Abbott's First Place Winner!
I'm off the ground excited to have won the prestigious Louisville Magic Club's Dr. Robert Escher Award in 2022, the People's Choice Award at the Open Mic Stand-up Competition Winter Carnival of Magic, Pigeon Forge, Tn. 2023, AND now I'm really in big competitive company having been awarded 3rd place at Abbott's Magic Get Together, 2023, just like Mac King did in 1977!
